Transfer from Ho Chi Minh Airport to La Gi

The drive south along National Highway 1A takes you from Ho Chi Minh City through the coastal lowlands toward Phan Thiet and beyond to La Gi. The route passes through fishing villages, shrimp farms, and tropical plantations; views shift from urban sprawl to open countryside and occasional sea vistas as you approach the Ba Ria–Vung Tau coast. Traffic and weather are the main variables—morning departures avoid congestion, while afternoon rain can slow progress.

Your driver meets you at the arrivals baggage-hall exit of whichever terminal your flight uses, holding a name sign; the 60-minute wait is free if your flight is delayed. Highway 1A is well-maintained but busy with trucks and coaches, especially between Long Thanh and Phan Thiet. La Gi itself is a small beach town 63 km south of Phan Thiet; confirm your exact hotel or accommodation name with the driver beforehand, as the town has limited street signage and few central landmarks.

Unlike public buses (Phuong Trang, Hanh Cafe) which take 3.5 hours, make multiple stops and often arrive at unmarked drop-off points, a private transfer deposits you directly at your accommodation. Taxis from Mien Dong bus station are unreliable for onward transport to La Gi, and train services (3h 44min, $16–$18) require separate transfers at either end—adding time, cost and logistical friction for a tired traveller with luggage.
