Milan Malpensa Airport Transfers (MXP)

Malpensa operates with two passenger terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, which are not connected airside. Terminal 1 handles most international and intercontinental flights, while Terminal 2 is dedicated largely to low-cost carriers, notably easyJet. Arrivals in both terminals are on the ground level, where passengers clear immigration, collect bags and exit into the arrivals hall. The airport lies roughly 49 km northwest of central Milan. Drivers reach the city via the SS336 from the airport down to Busto Arsizio, then join the A8 (the Milan–Laghi motorway) towards the centre, with the A4 as an alternative for some destinations. A door-to-door run is typically around 45–60 minutes when traffic is light, but it stretches considerably during the morning rush of roughly 7:30–9:30, again around midday, and in the evening 17:00–19:00, when the A8 approach into Milan is the main bottleneck.

Milan enforces two restricted-traffic schemes: Area C, covering the historic centre, and Area B, spanning nearly the whole urban area, both active Monday to Friday from 7:30 to 19:30. Area C access costs €7.50 for eligible vehicles. All motorway tolls and any applicable zone charges on your route are already built into the fixed Transfeero price, so there is nothing extra to pay and nothing to check on arrival.

The alternatives each have drawbacks. The white taxi rank sits in the arrivals area (Gate 6 at Terminal 1, Gate 4 at Terminal 2) and runs a fixed €114 fare to Milan, but queues build at peak times. The Malpensa Express train reaches Cadorna in about 43 minutes and Centrale in about 57, yet you still wrestle luggage onto the metro.
