Transfer from Miami Fort Lauderdale Airport to Fort Lauderdale

From the airport the route joins I-595, the main link that meets I-95 at the Rainbow Interchange on the northwestern edge of the airport area. Traffic then reaches Broward Boulevard, the main east-west access road into downtown Fort Lauderdale. Along it you pass the Fort Lauderdale Country Club to the south, and downtown brings Las Olas Boulevard and the NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale into view.

Your driver waits at the arrivals baggage-hall exit of the terminal where your flight lands, holding a name sign, and the first 60 minutes of waiting are free. Off-peak the drive usually takes about 15 minutes, but rush hour on I-595 and Broward Boulevard can add considerable time, so allow a buffer for morning and evening commutes. Fort Lauderdale is spread out, so a car is the simplest way to reach beachfront hotels and outlying neighborhoods.

The BCT Route 1 bus costs a flat $2.00 but takes about 40 minutes to downtown and requires a shuttle transfer first.
