Tallinn

The capital of Estonia is the new discovery in tourism. Elegant like Florence, liveable like Vienna, fun like Dublin, this human-sized city now welcomes tourists in every season. Undeniably, in winter its magic is also due to the long Nordic darkness illuminated by Christmas lights and the Northern Lights.

Your Tallinn itinerary will certainly include: the Toompea Hill, where both the cathedral and the ancient castle rise; the Old Town with the many gothic churches; the Medieval Walls; Kiek in de Kök Tower; the Dominican Monastery. Also visit the Stroomi Beach, even though you won’t have a swim in the very cold Baltic Sea! Getting to Tallinn is easy, thanks to Tallinn Airport (TLL) which is connected to the territory by tram, buses, taxis or private transfer services.

Prague

Since the 1990s, the sophisticated capital of the Czech Republic has become Europe’s favorite winter destination. Prague is a city of a thousand monuments, where art, history, and entertainment blend together without ever going beyond the limits. A city of music and events, it certainly gives its best during the New Year’s Eve festivities.

Come and visit, in Prague: Charles Bridge, the Jewish Quarter, the Nove Město (New Historic Quarter), the stunning Prague Castle, the Old Town with the cathedral of St Vitus, Vyserhad Castle. Not far from the city center, you can stroll through the green paths of Reserve Křivoklátsko. Your main gate, in Prague, will be Prague Airport (PRG) located 15 kilometers west of the city center of Prague at Ruzyně and home of several airlines, especially Czech Airlines. It works with 4 terminals and 3 long runways, serving 12 million travelers per year. Transfeero is the main choice for the transfers, though public transportations also help.

Dolomites

The Dolomites in Italy are another classic destination for Christmas and New Year’s holidays. Not only for the wonderful traditions offered by cities like Bolzano, Merano or the territories of Carnia in Friuli, but also for the increasingly varied offer of resorts with spa treatments. Imagining yourself pampered in a hot tub with a view of the rocky peaks, perhaps after a long trek or a snowshoe hike, is the pleasure you feel when choosing the Dolomites as a place to relax. To reach the territories linked to these mountains, the reference airports are Trieste and Bolzano.

Lofoten Islands

More than islands, the cold northern Lofoten Islands (Norway) appear as mountains “drowned” in the icy North Sea. The steep sides that rise from the frozen waters leave little room for human presence, which nevertheless exists, especially in the towns of Leknes and Svolvær, or in the delightful Henningsvær.

The Lofoten Islands are famous for being the best point of observation of the Northern Lights. But if you love culture, here you can also visit a Viking Museum and an exhibition of ice sculptures (in Svolvær) and the monument to the Italian navigator Pietro Querini (on Røst Island ) who arrived here in the 15th century as a new “Marco Polo” of the North! To reach Lofoten, you can land at the local airport of Svolvær which is very well connected to Oslo Gardermoen Airport (OSL).

Reykjavik

Iceland -today more than ever- is a lively and sought-after destination for everyone. The spectacle of winter colors and seasonal ice blends with the red lights of volcanic eruptions. There is no shortage of opportunities for dream excursions, as well as unique cultural and gastronomic events, and it all originates in the capital: Reykjavik.

In Reykjavik you can book numerous interesting tours. Downtown you will admire Parliament Building, Lutheran Cathedral, Catholic Cathedral of Christ the King, Hallgrimm Church, Perlan Museum, Harpa Concert Hall, Traveler of the Sun, National Museum of Iceland. In the surrounding area, the Fagradalsfjall Volcano, Garđur Lighthouse, Hafnir Beach, Selfox, Thingvallavatn Lake. The main airport in the capital of Iceland is Reykjavik-Keflavik (KEF).
