Tips for your trip to Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is synonymous with business and money. It is part of the state of the United Arab Emirates and is in fact the largest of the seven emirates that make up the federation, as well as their common capital. Oil, commercial and electronic companies that move large amounts of international money are based here. Yet, for some time now, Abu Dhabi has rediscovered itself as a tourist destination of great interest, aiming, without hesitation, at ultra-selective luxury tourism. Those who can afford the costs, however, should treat themselves to this dream vacation…

Best period to visit Abu Dhabi

Located in one of the hottest regions in the world, the emirate of Abu Dhabi suffers from very high temperatures in the summer months. Therefore, the best time for a vacation here is between the months of October and June, when the climate is relatively mild and more similar to an European late spring.

Travel documents

To enter the United Arab Emirates, you must have a passport with residual validity of at least 6 months, from the day of entry into the United Arab Emirates. An entry visa is not required for stays of up to 90 days; if you exceed that period you must specify the reason for your residence in the country (study, work, tourism). No mandatory vaccinations are required.

What to pack for your trip to Abu Dhabi

There is no doubt about it, clothes are the first choice to make for a trip to Abu Dhabi. You will certainly need to have light, summer clothes, possibly in natural fibers so as not to feel too hot, possibly loose. Avoid low-cut dresses or pants that are too short, even if you are a man. A pair of elegant dresses/suits should never be missing from your suitcase for Abu Dhabi.

You can bring swimsuits, as long as they are accompanied by veils, sarongs or t-shirts to cover yourself with, even on the beach, before diving into the sea. A jacket against the evening cold of the desert, hats, sunglasses and sunscreen are also a must. Of course, do not forget cameras and devices for videos and photos. You may need an electrical adapter depending on the country you are coming from. In Abu Dhabi they use “British type” sockets with power 220 V/50 Hz.

How to get to Abu Dhabi

The best way to get to Abu Dhabi is by airplane. Thanks to the international Abu Dhabi Airport (AUH) planes from all over the world and of all sizes can land here, thus facilitating rapid tourist movement. Those who are already there, in Arabia or the Emirates, can also reach Abu Dhabi by highway (with organized private transfers) or with internal flights.

How to move through Abu Dhabi

To move around the city, or within the territory of the emirate, or even to cover the distances between the hotel and the airport, you can rely on the cheap local buses, or public taxis. Alternatively, you can use the brand new trams and the tourist service “Hop-On, Hop-Off Bus”. But since luxury tourism is a must here, you can book a private transport service with all the luxuries and comforts you desire. The so-called “eco” transport (bikes) is rarer due to the high temperatures, but that does not mean that the more adventurous cannot rent an electric scooter.
